Well, he couldn’t read, but to keep it 100, many stars are not the sharpest pencil in the box:
R&B singer/songwriter R. Kelly revealed that despite his musical talents, he suffers from illiteracy and barely made it through grade school. The Grammy winner recently spoke at the Midwest Music Festival in Chicago, about the trials and tribulations of starting his career.
“When I was trying to make it out here, I already knew, and I was stubborn about it,” he said. “I don’t even read really and I’m not afraid to say that. My cousins and brothers used to tease me ‘you can’t even read right. How you think you’re going to come up?’ The only reason I graduated from grammar school is because I had a great jump shot. I went to high school and [my teacher] told me ‘you will one of the greatest writers of all time.’ I believed. You [have to] believe it. You can’t believe [anything] if you’re hating. You can’t achieve [anything] if you’re hating.”
He sounds ignorant from time to time, but his musical talent is simply undeniable. The word on the street is his manager is stealing from him right under his nose, and everyone in the Chicago music scene has been aware of this for years, but he ain’t got enough sense to do anything about it– and don’t get me started on pissing on a fourteen year old– I just can’t…

I feel like it takes a lot to be the number 1 R&B singer. I mean I’m the number 1 R&B singer right now. I would say that as far as right now current times hottest artist right now in the moment, but I think it takes a lot of consistency it takes longevity and a lot more than what I’ve done in the past year… I’m not the greatest (of all time) right now, I will say that, but I will be. At this point I feel like R Kelly knows if he was to step in that arena with me he couldn’t PLAY with me as far as lyrically, word play or metaphorically in that arena after the way I came on death of Kellz. Kellz is older he’s an old man.
Number 1- calling someone “old” is lame. Old can very easy equate to wisdom and experience, which can be good. I’m do not support the choices R Kelly has made in his life, but he is a damn good singer and songwriter and no one can take that away from him. Furthermore, he has been in the music game since 1991–that is no accident son.
On a side note, when did he get this fine? (even though he is looking like village people).

and big ups Chris Brown. Now, I must admit that R is a very talented singer, songwriter and producer (how often do you hear that combination) but he does “make it rain” in the worst way and on the worst people) but he messed all that up by lying and being a pedophile.
On the other hand, while Chris Brown is certainly talented (and we all know his pimp hand is strong) he is light year away from R Kelly. And while I’m at it, so is Trey Songs. Here is the link:

R Kelly has found himself in some legal troubles:
R.Kelly has been sued by a Kansas City private investigator who claimed he was not paid for his services during the singer’s child pornography case.
The lawsuit was filed last Friday (February 27) in federal court.
Kelly is being sued by a private investigator who claims the singer stiffed him on a $300,000 bill. According to a lawsuit filed last week in Missouri federal court, Charles Freeman claims he was hired during Kelly’s trial to “obtain and/or recover certain tapes that were said to incriminate” R. Kelly. Freeman said he did the job, but never got paid. He’s suing for damages plus interests and costs. (TMZ)
Freeman claims an agreement was drawn together at the start of the investigation. In the suit, Freeman claims that he entered into an agreement in 2001 with R. Kelly and manager Daryl McDavid to “act as a private investigator” and retrieve “tapes” relevant to R. Kelly’s then-upcoming child-pornography trial. R. Kelly was accused of 21 counts of child pornography. The trial, which was delayed until 2008, centered on a tape that allegedly showed R. Kelly having sex with a 14-year-old girl. (Kansas City Pitch)
Freeman was an active figure in Kelly’s case and was also accused of creating a staged sex tape against Kelly.
The first thing to come to mind was this is what this guy gets for helping a child molester. I have also read that the wealthy sometimes wait to get sued because they wind up paying less than if they paid people right out. This guy basically raped a 14 year old, I would not be surprised if he cheated somebody out of their money…

Did you know the R was married? Well his divorce was ruled final this week. His ex-wife, Andrea Lee Kelly, released a statement from her lawyer saying their marriage is offically over after 11 years. The statement went on to say they will have joint custody of their three children.
In a piece in Essence magazine, Andrea explained that she and R have been separated for over 4 years working out the details of the divorce.
My two cents– I would not let him anywhere near my children– ALONE. The good news, you will not be seeing Andreas face plastered all over the internet, she knows too many of his skeletons. His royalty checks are directly deposited into her account.
Here are the photos from the nomination special. I already don’t want to watch it…

R. Kelly won 3.4 million dollars in unpaid fees from a tour promoter. The suit claimed that Leonard Rowe owed him for fees not paid for concerts in 2007 and 2008. Just last month, singer Ne-Yo was awarded nearly $750,000 from the same company. Ne-YO left the tour after only a week because he claimed R was hating on him.

Just a couple of months ago Kelly was acquitted of 14 charges of child pornography, hopefully he will use this money to go sat down somewhere.
” I have some 19-year old friends. But I don’t like anybody illegal. if that’s what we’re talking about—underage”
