Newsweek’s latest issue features a Michele Bachmann cover that’s sure to stir up controversy.
The cover shows Bachmann standing against a stark blue background, looking directly into the camera with a wide-eyed expression. The headline advertising the magazine’s story reads, “THE QUEEN OF RAGE.”
CHICAGO — The ex-wife of Illinois U.S. Rep. Joe Walsh has sued her ex-husband for more than $117,000 in what she says is unpaid child support and interest. The Chicago Sun-Times reports Laura Walsh filed the claim in December in their divorce case. The first-term Republican has been outspoken against tax increases amid the debt showdown between GOP lawmakers and the White House. Laura Walsh contends the congressman loaned his own campaign $35,000. She calls that “surprising” given the money she says he owes to support their three children.
Congressman Walsh answered in a February court filing that he thought he and his ex-wife were coming to an agreement on the money owed. His attorney, R. Steven Polachek, denies the congressman owes “anywhere near” the amount Laura Walsh claims.

After he cheated on his wife who was battling cancer (and got another chick pregnant in the meantime) John Edwards got away pretty much unscathed: that is until Karma pulled his number:
RALEIGH, North Carolina – A federal grand jury has indicted two-time presidential candidate John Edwards over massive sums of money spent to keep his mistress in hiding during the peak of his 2008 campaign for the White House.
The case of USA v. Johnny Reid Edwards contains six counts, including conspiracy, four counts of illegal campaign contributions and one count of false statements. The indictment was returned in the Middle District of North Carolina Friday.An Edwards spokeswoman said she wasn’t aware of the filing and declined immediate comment.
The indictment is the culmination of a federal investigation that lasted more than two years and scoured through virtually every corner of Edwards’ political career.
While he will probably never serve a day in jail, his political clout is completely dried up, and his reputation is dirt. Serves him right!
