It is no secret that record labels buy artist cd’s in order to pump up advertisement. You read that right- Record labels will buy large quantities of a cd that has just been released to pad the number of records sold and hopefully convince other consumers to buy the record. I know that P. Diddy did that with Da Band (remember them) but have no idea if Jay-Z does it for himself. Well LL thinks so– First look at Jay’s acceptance speech from the AMA’s:
