AT&T Is Latest To End Tiger Woods Sponsorship
When it rains, it pours
AT&T Inc. said Thursday it would no longer sponsor Tiger Woods, joining Accenture in dropping support for the world’s top golfer, who’s taking a break from the sport to focus on his marriage after his admitted infidelity.
The phone company hasn’t used Woods’ image extensively in advertising, but its logo appeared on his golf bag. That deal had been billed as a “multiyear” agreement when it was signed early in 2009, after Buick ended its endorsement one year early because of its financial woes.
Woods has also been the host of the AT&T National PGA Tour event since it started in 2007. Tour spokesman Ty Votaw said that since Woods is on indefinite leave from professional golf, he will not serve as host for the 2010 event. However, his Tiger Woods Foundation will continue to be the beneficiary of the AT&T National, under a contract that runs through 2014, Votaw said.
I think AT&T and Tiger make a great team. They could release a commercial showing how Tiger juggles all of his hoes on the best 3G coverage around. Stop trippin’ AT&T!!!

Rush Limbaugh Rushed To The Hospital
Is it wrong for me not to care?
Conservative radio talk-show host Rush Limbaugh will undergo a complete medical examination Thursday but remains in “good, stable condition” after he was admitted to a Hawaii hospital for chest pains.
On Wednesday, paramedics took the vacationing Limbaugh to The Queen’s Medical Center after he experienced chest pains.
“While those pains can be an indicator of a cardiac event, the cause of his discomfort cannot be confirmed at this time,” Williams said. “But he’s going to take a lot of tests.”
Williams said Limbaugh is in “good, stable condition” and he assured Limbaugh’s loyal listeners that “he’s in very good hands.”

BET Show Make History
For the network at least. Several broadcast did very well in 2009, including the debacle of the BET awards (which happened some 48 hours after MJ had passed)
With an average of 512,000 viewers, BET enjoyed double-digit increases in all key demographics for all four quarters throughout the year. The increases are in large part due to new original programming, big specials, and showing major films and television shows. It’s evident that black women make good tv.
The “2009 BET Awards” was the #1 awards show on cable and the number one program among blacks in cable television history, drawing more than 10.7 million total viewers. The “BET Hip-Hop Awards” became the #1 hip-hop telecast in BET history, and the “Centric Presents: 2009 Soul Train Awards” was the #1 fourth quarter telecast in the network’s history.
The network has also had major success with its new late-night series,”The Mo’Nique Show,” the most-watched late night series among blacks and the highest-rated show of the season.
Also performing strong for the network were “Tiny & Toya,” which chronicled the lives of the girlfriend and ex-wife of two of hip-hop’s hottest artists, T.I. and Lil Wayne. The finale drew 1.9 million viewers. Meanwhile, “Monica: Still Standing,” which follows the R&B singer’s life, was the #2 series debut in BET history behind “Tiny & Toya.”
Well, congrats- I guess. I must say that Monica’s show along with Tiny and Toya were not only entertaining, but uplifting as well, so Kudos to BET for that. Everything else was a hot ghetto mess- Real talk.

Tiger Woods Broken Cheek Bone
Wow, I really wanted this story to go away, but this article is really interesting:
Tiger Woods has taken time off from the golf world, but not to just work on his family as he originally led us to believe. He is recuperating after getting his face and teeth reconstructed after Elin hitting him with a 9 iron the night of his accident. The damage was extensive to his face
after being hit by Elin. He had a broken bone in his face, damage to his nose, and his front teeth were knocked out from the blows of the club at the hands of Elin. This story was posted today by Furman Bisher, a highly accredited sports writer.Tiger Woods boarded a private jet immediately after getting released from the Florida hospital where he was taken after his accident on Thanksgiving night. He was flown to a plastic surgeon specialist in Arizona to have his face reconstructed. Mark Steinberg, Tiger’s agent, accompanied Tiger on the trip to Phoenix to the specialist.
