Not everyone is participating in the recession:
Stars showed up at the opening celebration of the Mardan Palace Hotel in Antalya, Turkey on Saturday – for a price.
Richard Gere, Sharon Stone, Mariah Carey, Tom Jones, Seal and others turned out to celebrate the opening of the 560-room five-star resort on the Mediterranean. The NY Post reports that Mariah was paid $1.5 million for her appearance, which included a short performance Saturday night. No word how much the others got paid.
As far as I am concerned, she deserves it. She also attended an event in Dubai where she was paid over a million, but Mariah has sold over 250 million albums and has been doing this almost twenty years. Good for her…
