This is crazy, collection agencies are actually threatening people with rape and bodily harm to get them to pay their bills. That has got to be the worst job ever; could you imagine going to work everyday and get paid to threaten people. I hope they have a damn good pension program…

The “Obama” artist, Shepard Fairey, speaks out about his legal case with the AP. Just to refresh your memory his legendary image was painted from reference using a photo from a photographer hired by the AP– here is his response:
I’m sure a lot of people are wondering about my case with the AP over the Obama HOPE poster. I can’t talk about every aspect of the case, but there are a few things I want to discuss and points I’d like to make.
Most importantly, I am fighting the AP to protect the rights of all artists, especially those with a desire to make art with social commentary. This is about artistic freedom and basic rights of free expression, which need to be available to all, whether they have money and lawyers or not. I created the Obama image as a grassroots tool solely to help Obama get elected president. The image worked due to many complex variables. If I could do it all over again, I would not change anything about the process, because that could change the outcome. I am glad to endure legal headaches if that is the trade-off for Obama being president.
Something is off, I can’t put my finger on it…

Essence Magazine recently sat down with Tiny from the former R & B group “Escape” to talk about motherhood, life as TI’s girlfriend, and any regrets:
<ESSENCE:What do you think is the biggest misconception people have about you and T.I.’s relationship?
TINY: That we’re not a real couple. They think because we’re not married yet and have been engaged for two years that something must be wrong. I know it’s a long time, but there are so many restrictions placed upon him now before we can think about planning a wedding. There is so much love between us it’s ridiculous, and we like [spending] time together. So the things that people say and write about us doesn’t bother me. I know what we have and what he shows me every day and that’s all that matters.
ESSENCE: Do you have any words of encouragement for women who might be going through a similar situation as you?
TINY: Yes. Depending on the situation and the person, you should stick it out through thick and thin—the good and bad times. If you know you’re with someone who would give his life for you and is somewhat a responsible better half, then stand up for him. I know my man’s heart and because of that I’m going to be everything I need to be for him. Yes, he’s made mistakes, but so have I.
If your man stands up for you and is there whenever you need him, then doesn’t he deserve your unconditional love and support? If I know that about my man, then that’s the kind of woman I’m going to be for him. I might need him in different ways than he needs me, but if being his woman means loving, supporting and putting his mind at ease, then the least I can do is step up to the plate and be there for him and our family.
Ok, so they have this many restrictions when it comes to getting married, but not the same for the household full of kids they produce???? Anyways, you can read the rest of the interview here
